Ready to learn more? Here’s what you should understand about each of the compatible electric car chargers:
At-Home Charging
- Level 1 Charging relies on a portable charging cord that you can plug into any 120-volt three-prong outlet. The ability to add 48 miles of range in around 12 hours makes Level 1 Charging a great option for those who primarily use their Bolt EV or Bolt EUV for short trips around town.
- Level 2 Charging requires the installation of a 240-volt appliance outlet at home. However, this option allows you to fully recharge your Bolt battery overnight. If you primarily use your Bolt for commuting, you can charge up every couple of days and go from zero to full in as little as 9.5 hours.
Public Charging
- Level 2 Charging is even more effective at the 40,000+ public charging stations available to Bolt drivers nationwide. You can use your standard or optional Level 2 Charging cord at any of these locations, where you’ll add around 39 miles of range per hour.
- Level 3 Charging uses 55 kW DC capability to restore up to 100 miles of range in just 30 minutes, or 160 miles of range in an hour. This option is perfect for road trip pit stops, so don’t forget to ask about the optional DC charging cable when you’re equipping a Bolt of your own.
If you’re away from home, simply use the myChevrolet Mobile App’s Energy Assist feature. This app will locate charging stations for you and direct you to the station with the lowest wait time.
