Redbird State Recreation Area is built on an abandoned coal mine, which left the area ideal for creating some of the most exciting off road trails in Indiana. There are miles and miles of trails with different levels of difficulty, so this park is suitable for drivers of all skill levels. It’s less than a two-hour drive from Zionsville and well worth it.

Maumee Riding Park is another mining complex that is being turned into an OTV riding trail. This spot hosts concerts and other events, as well. It takes a little over 2 hours to drive there from Westfield. But is that really that far for one of the best off road parks in Indiana?

Yet another OTV area built on a former coal mine, Interlake State Recreation Area sprawls out over 3,550 acres and boasts over 100 trails. It also contains 17 lakes, making it perhaps one of the most scenic off-road parks in Indiana. It’s about 2 and a half hours from Noblesville, but worth the drive.
